Lilac Simple Syrup

This recipe was originally shared with us by Abby Fury of Sincere Cheer. It is the perfect wow factor at any spring garden gathering.

Ingredients:
1 cup water
1 cup white sugar
2 cups of cleaned, destemmed lilac blossoms

In a sauce pan bring water and sugar to a boil. Allow sugar to completely dissolve. Turn heat down to a simmer and add 2 cups of lilac blossoms. Remove from heat, cover and let sit for 3-8 hours. Strain through a colander (you may need to do this twice). Store in the refrigerator. Use to add flavor to lemonade, ice tea and cocktails.
